To be eligible for the CISSP exam, you must have at least five years of full-time work experience in two or more of the eight domains of the CISSP common body of knowledge (CBK). Alternatively, you can have four years of experience and a college degree, or a combination of experience and education totaling four years.
Once you meet the work experience requirements, you'll need to pass the CISSP exam. The exam consists of 250 multiple-choice questions and costs $699. You'll have six hours to complete the exam, which is offered in English only.
After passing the exam, you'll need to adhere to the (ISC)² Code of Ethics and earn 30 continuing professional education (CPE) credits every three years to maintain your certification.
